On June 27, youth from Aurora’s Westwood (Jericho Circle) and Southwind (Pearl Street) communities teamed up at East Aurora High School to take on some of the area’s toughest 3-on-3 basketball teams. Triple Threat Mentoring sponsored five teams ranging from 4th-5th grade through 11th-12th grade boys, as well as a 6th-8th grade girls team.  Some teams placed as high as third in the tournament. Overall everyone had a great time.  Team jerseys were provided by Power Bar.

Triple Threat selected an MVP from each team to be awarded a new Nike Basketball.  The MVP status was awarded to athletes  for their S.W.e.A.T. rather than for their number of points, rebounds, or blocked shots.  S.W.e.A.T. is Triple Threat’s new Athletics acronym, standing for Sportsmanship, Work ethic, Attitude, and Teamwork: a path to success for anything that we do in life.

Thanks to all of our youth and volunteers.  It was great fun!
