Celebrate Our Children

Celebrate Our Children, an annual Aurora festival of fun for urban youth and families, will take place August 15 from noon – 4:00pm at McCarty Park. Now in its 17th year, the event is an opportunity for the city of Aurora, local churches, and non-profits to unite to love and serve Aurora kids and families. This year Triple Threat Mentoring is leading the event planning team composed of local churches and non-profits to develop and manage this major event. Last year over 2000 Aurora kids and families participated.

Featured will be kids games and activities, a petting zoo, pony rides, giant interactive inflatable’s, fun tattoos, balloons, concessions, athletic and arts activities, community service booths and resources for families, prizes, give-aways, stage performers and grounds attractions all geared for kids. Over 170 community volunteers are being recruited to make the event successful. A variety of volunteer roles and shifts are available.
