Celebrate Our Children Athletics and Arts Fun
The Triple Threat Tent saw over 275 children during East Aurora’s 17th annual urban festival, Celebrate Our Children, held at McCarty Park. As part of the festival’s activities, youth entered the Triple Threat Tent to receive a bracelet entitling them to participate in all Triple Threat activities.
At the Athletics area, youth ran through the Nike Sparq Training obstacle course, and shot balls through a football target, soccer goals, and giant inflatable basketball hoops provided by Bounce Town of Oswego.
In the Arts corner, youth discovered 4’ x 8’ plywood boards, each with a unique theme: “Rhythm of Joy,” “New Soul,” “Revolution,” and “Live Today.” Local artists from Infidel group led youth in creating a painted collage using stencils of animals representing character qualities they admired. Also featured at Triple Threat Arts was a drum circle. Youth were taught djembe drum basics and then played as part of a drum circle led by local drummers Kevin Reimer and Adam Cheasley.
Thanks to Triple Threat sponsors Boost Mobile and PowerBar® for their event support to serve East Aurora kids.
