Urban Students Attend RPJ Basketball Camp

Three students from Jericho Circle were selected by Triple Threat to participate in Roger Powell Junior’s annual basketball camp located at Calvary Church on August 11th-13th.  Washington Middle School 8th grader Darien Parker, West Aurora High School freshman Sam Rowell, and West Aurora sophomore David Hill had the opportunity to take part in the 3-day camp with Powell, NBA player Mike Wilmes, Rising Stars Coach Todd Wolfe and others. In addition to students learning advanced basketball drills, values of leadership and integrity were the focus as they watched the movie “Pistol Pete,” an inspiring basketball story of effort, attitude, and overcoming odds.

Look for these three players to step up and be leaders this fall: on their teams and in their community.
