5th Grade Soccer Teams and Volunteers Prevail
Thanks to all our volunteers who braved the weather and were unstoppable in serving East Aurora 5th grade youth at the Soccer Tournament Oct. 24. In spite of nasty, cold, rainy weather (and yes SNOW during our opening game!) – 100% of Triple Threat volunteers showed up to serve! We keep saying it, but it’s TRUE – Triple Threat volunteers are the greatest!!! So a BIG THANKS to our volunteers for once again showing up in a big way and partnering with Triple Threat to make a difference for under resourced kids.
Teams and coaches checked in with athletes receiving Triple Threat energy bars by PowerBar®. Competition was fierce as teams played on muddy fields braving the elements in pursuit of the 2009 soccer trophy. And when it was all done, the reigning 2009 Soccer Champions were Hermes Elementary for Boys team and Dieterich Elementary for Girls team. Each team was awarded a Nike soccer ball for their athletic commitment and discipline thanks to Triple Threat. Miss Illinois showed up to cheer athletes, celebrate victories and sign soccer balls and pose for pictures with eager young athletes. Triple Threat would like to thank our partners Nike and PowerBar® for their continued investment in under-resourced youth.
