And That’s a Wrap

The group of 5th grade students slowly entered the room for their first day of Improv. Theater. Shy, giggling and somewhat skeptical they listened as Miss Illinois WIU Theatre major Erin O’Connor explained “improvisation.” Her high energy, engaging manner and fun “games” quickly won them over.  And as students entered the world of Improv, a transformation took place.  Self-confidence grew along with acting skills and students took risks, discovered new talents, and encouraged each other.  The 8-week session wrapped up with a live performance for friends and family. Proud students displayed their newly acquired acting skills through a variety of entertaining improvisational routines and sketches. It was a dramatic finish to a fun theatrical experience for aspiring young actors.  Thanks Erin!

Erin O’Connor, the 2009-2010 Miss Illinois, drove weekly from Chicago to teach Improv. Theatre to students at Bardwell Elementary. Miss Illinois organization has chosen Triple Threat as their platform for charitable contribution and partners to serve youth through volunteerism and leadership.
