EAHS Varsity Athletes and Leaders Making a Difference

The East Aurora High School varsity basketball team is focusing their 2009-2010 season on leadership development. Triple Threat is partnering to support athletes by providing leadership resources, and program initiatives that create leadership service opportunities for the EAHS basketball team. Target opportunities include EAHS athletes teaching leadership and high-level skills training (coaching basketball) for younger athletes at Gates Elementary School, once the high school basketball season is completed.

The varsity program has also provided basketball coaching and student clinics for other School District 131 programs. Effectively, they are creating a more successful system to feed productive, character driven student athletes to lead the future East Aurora High School teams.

Bases Loaded February 20 at 6:00pm

February 20, 6:00pm @ Gates Elementary, 800 Seventh Ave, Aurora, IL

Baseball History 1901- to the Present Take a step back in history and meet some of the greatest players and teams that have stepped onto the field. Meet the players that have overcome great adversity and have gone onto achieve success on the field. Great stories will be shared, classic videos displayed and baseball cards wars will be played. 9 weeks will end with a trip to US Cellular Park to watch the Chicago White Sox play and a final week of splitting into teams and battle in a war of trivia.

Guitar February 23 at 4:00pm

February 23, 4:00pm @ Simmons Middle School, 1130 Sheffer Rd., Aurora, IL

Find the joy of learning guitar in a group setting with the guitar program. This is open to students in a variety of skill levels and will allow them to grow at their pace. This is a great place to start the journey toward rocking in the free world!

BiRP (Bicycle Repair Program) February 23 at 4:30pm

February 23, 4:30pm @ Fred Rodger’s Community Center, 501 College Avenue, Aurora, IL

Students have the opportunity to earn a bicycle while learning the repair skills it takes to keep it going. Donated bicycles are completely dismantled and then rebuilt over the eight week program. Students that complete the session keep the ride they are working on and also get to use their skills to give bikes to others in need. Come wrench with us!
