Accelerate

With an uncharacteristically hot April sun beaming, middle school students from Jericho Circle summoned all the energy they could. They poured out their remaining energy in the waning moments of a recent Accelerate program.

Accelerate is Triple Threat’s twice-a-week running and fitness program that prepares middle school students for other sports while improving their endurance.

So what separates Accelerate from any other after-school youth fitness program? A lot, actually. Most importantly, the kids in the programs aren’t even training for a specific sport. Instead, they’re looking out for their own fitness to prepare for upcoming sporting seasons. To accomplish that, Accelerate draws from a number of activities, including Nike Sparq training, ultimate Frisbee and a number of other running tasks and activities.

Endurance isn’t the only thing improving. So too is their character. Triple Threat’s athletics programs place a strong emphasis on growing character and leadership skills.
