History

    WHO  WE  ARE

Triple Threat Mentoring is an independent non-profit organization working with urban under resourced youth of East Aurora. Our mission is empowering urban youth to develop confidence, character and life skills.

    HOW  WE  GOT  HERE

Triple Threat Mentoring was founded in the fall of 2007 by East Aurora resident, Caleb Luper. Formerly on staff with Global Outreach Ministries, Caleb facilitated short term mission trips and sports camps in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. His global experience and faith fed his passion to serve under-privileged kids in his own community of East Aurora. Although the state’s second largest city, poverty, drug trafficking, crime, and illiteracy present significant challenges for the city of Aurora. Many East Aurora youth are from low income households affording limited opportunities for growth and development. Depleted resources for education, extra-curricular activities, staffing and leadership leave youth disadvantaged and at risk.

    WHAT  WE DO

Triple Threat Mentoring seeks to be a source of hope, encouragement and opportunity to these disadvantaged urban youth. Our goal is to address the needs of East Aurora youth and be a catalyst for change, one life at a time. Since its inception, Triple Threat Mentoring has partnered with East Aurora School District to serve 1500 elementary students through programs and events. Opportunities for youth are strategically programmed in the areas of Academics, Athletics and Arts. Through combining mentoring relationships with programming, youth are encouraged to pursue goals and live out their potential. Adult mentors include volunteer roles that bridge need with community involvement to provide youth with a caring, personal influence. Mentors serve as positive role models while offering guidance and accountability in helping youth reach personal goals within the context of the program. All Triple Threat programs and events enroll volunteers through relationships developed with the community, schools, local churches and businesses.
