Step Up Your Game 2 February 29 at 6:45pm

Students will pick up where they left off last summer and dive right into the college application process. Students will fill out their FAFSA, receive career guidance, learn to write a resume and visit College campuses in Illinois.

Cooking March 1 at 5:00pm

March 1, 5:00pm @ East Aurora High School, 500 Tomcat Lane, Aurora, IL

Students will start their 3rd cooking session this spring! They will learn how to make breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes and how to prepare healthy snacks for the summer. As a way to give back to the community, the students will prepare lunch for a different Triple Threat program’s fieldtrip. These students are turning into quite the little chefs!

Money in Motion March 1 at 6:30pm

March 1, 6:30pm @ Fred Rodgers Community Center, 501 College Avenue, Aurora, IL

Students will learn all about financial literacy from a financial adviser; goal setting, budgeting, banking, savings and good vs. bad debt, just to name a few. Students from the previous sessions will become youth leaders to the new students

My Story March 5 at 5:30pm

March 5, 5:30pm @ Fred Rodgers Community Center, 501 College Avenue, Aurora, IL

Six high school students will learn to understand who they are and who they are becoming. They will look at themselves from 3 different perspectives (their own, family and friends). The goal is for each of them to gain self-awareness, gain insight into family of origin, and learn core relationship skills. Each student will create a video log of their thoughts and stories during the sessions, to watch their growth over 1 year.

The Word Up Project (Rollins) March 6 at 3:45pm

March 6, 3:45pm @ Rollins Elementary, 950 Kane Street, Aurora, IL

Students will learn new vocabulary words through the use of Hip-Hop music to improve their reading comprehension and fluency. There will be vocabulary games, dancing, writing of songs and Hip-Hop music… need I say more?
