Thanks to Up2Us and Coach Across America National Team’s new partnership with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and Mercedes-Benz, 3 CAA coaches will serve 900 hours each with Triple Threat athletic programs.Triple Threat was selected as a host service site for the pilot expansion program. The coaches are empowering our Chicago expansion to provide sports-based youth development programs for the under-served.

Triple Threat students in the Illuminate Your Mind program were introduced to science principals through non-traditional means such as inspecting their own germs, astronomy, creating foam and building rockets.

Adam Mock recently joined in on the fun. Mock is the President of Medallion Media Group, a large supporter of Triple Threat.

Adam gave 3T students a behind-the-scenes look at Medallion Media Group, an Aurora-based company that publishes books, music and movies. He taught youth the various methods he employes as the president of Medallion and how those choices affect the company’s bottom line.

In an anything-goes Q&A session, students got answers about the publishing industry and what it takes to run a successful business. Triple Threat can’t thank Medallion and Adam enough for their continued support in helping 3T empower urban youth!

3T has made its way to the Chi city! Triple Threat started about 4 years ago out of Caleb Luper’s house. Since that time, Triple Threat has served more than 12,000 students from under-resourced areas. And our reach has recently grown! How much? Can you say Chi city?

Since late February, 3T has been offering regular programming in Chicago. Two times a week, we offer Nike Sparq athletic training at Daley Elementary and Wescott Elementary on Chicago’s west side.
We’re stoked to have a permanent presence in Chicago! Thanks to a federal 21st Century grant, we’ll be offering Sparq training at the schools for the rest of the spring! Triple Threat is serving as a service provider for Chicago Youth Centers.

David, along with Trevor Campbell, recently joined the Triple Threat staff through two different work programs at Quad County Urban League.

“I like being around people that care about me,” David said. “People that motivate me to do better. To complete school. To play sports. It’s fun to be around here. It’s a good environment when the people are having fun and they care about you.”

A high school senior at West Aurora, David has been in a handful of programs with Triple Threat in the past. Trevor, on the other hand, is new to Triple Threat and recently graduated from Aurora University.

Trevor helps oversee Nike Sqarq programming Triple Threat runs at two schools in Aurora, as well as other aspects of programs in Arts, Academics and Athletics.

David also helps run Sparq programming, as well as general office duties. He even helped Triple Threat launch its new web site.

Thanks to a federal 21st Century grant, Triple Threat will be offering elite athletic training at 3 Aurora schools for 3 years. It’s called Nike Sparq. Think professional level athletic training delivered straight to Krug, Allen and Johnson elementary schools.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center grant is a federal award through the U.S. Department of Education. Triple Threat has teamed up as a service provider with Communities in Schools to offer the intense and immersive Sparq training.

Triple Threat has teamed up with Communities in Schools to bring the heart-pumping, adrenaline-packed workout routines to these three schools. We’re excited for the partnership, and are looking forward to bringing the athletic intensity across the board!

Bardwell survived some rough competition to win the annual District 131 5th grade boys basketball tournament.

It wasn’t just the boys getting in on the action. More than 100 girls and boys also competed in the cheerleading competition. After all the cheers had been cheered, Beaupre elementary was crowned the top squad.
